Help Support Back-to-School Initiative for Foster Kids

Current status: Successful completion.

Together with our generous donors and Bērnu Rīts, we have successfully provided school supplies for 150 children in foster families across Latvia through the Latvian Foster Families Association. These children started the school year with the tools they needed to learn and grow. Education is a vital part of a child’s development, shaping their future and fostering creativity, confidence, and success.

About the project:

As the new school year is approaching, children and their parents are starting to prepare for it. Buying all the supplies for school is supposed to be a joyful event for kids. However, many families experience uncertainty and concern about their ability to provide everything necessary for school. Special assistance is needed for 150 children from grades 2 to 12 who are being raised in foster families across Latvia through The Latvian Foster Families Association (Latvijas audžuģimeņu biedrība).

The mission of the Latvian Foster Family Association is to support families that raise children who have been left without the care of their biological parents. The Latvian Foster Family Association brings together 191 guardians, foster families, and host families with 348 children from all regions of Latvia. For 18 years, the Charity Foundation Bērnu Rīts has been supporting children who have been left without parental care. Now, together with the Charity Foundation Bērnu rīts, we are collecting funds that will be used to purchase school supplies for the children, including markers, pencils, glue, gouache, watercolors, brushes, notebooks, rulers, and more.

We strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Access to proper school supplies is crucial for their educational development and self-esteem. With your support, these children can start the school year with confidence, equipped with the tools they need to thrive. By donating, you are not just providing school supplies; you are investing in the future of these children and helping to create a brighter tomorrow.
