The Lithuanian non-profit organization Žmonės Žmonėms is currently raising funds to support two deeply impactful initiatives for children facing emotional challenges and growing up without parental care.

About the Projects:
- “A Day with a Child from an Orphanage” – €8,850
This is a social initiative that gives 32 children from foster homes the chance to experience warm, individual attention, build trust in adults, and create meaningful memories. Each child spends the day one-on-one with a caring adult (VŠĮ “Žmonės Žmonėms” employee), engaging in coaching sessions that gently guide them through their emotions, strengthen their self-confidence, and allow them to feel truly seen and heard. In this safe space, a simple yet powerful question is asked — “What do you dream about?” For many, it’s the first time someone has genuinely wanted to know. And just as important, it’s the first time someone sincerely listens.
What makes this day so special is not only the connection, but also the care: each child’s personal wish or meaningful need is honored, reminding them that their voice matters — and that they are worthy of joy, trust, and love.
Cost Breakdown:
€2,880 – Fuel, meals, and shared experience costs (€90 x 32 children)
€4,800 – Dream-fulfillment and personal needs (€150 x 32 children)
€2,240 – Safe 1:1 coaching and programme coordination (€70 x 32 children)

2. “Summer Day Camp at Šančiai Children’s Day Centre” – €2,300
This free camp offers vital support for children from vulnerable families and emotionally challenging environments. It creates a space where children can simply be kids — while also gaining tools for emotional resilience, connection, and growth. Each day is filled with experiences that strengthen emotional well-being, build self-worth and teach social skills.
Daily Activities Include:
- Educational session with a local beekeeper
- Fire station visit and safety workshop
- Burger-making workshop
- Day trip to Marijampolė
- Creative workshops with art and sound therapy sessions
- Nature hikes, treasure hunts, and picnic with overnight stay
- Daily “Friendship circles” for emotional reflection
Cost Breakdown:
€1,400 – Meals & safe transportation
€900 – Educational materials & activity costs
Because these children are not “someone else’s problem.” They are our future – the classmates, friends, and colleagues of our own children. If we don’t show up for them now, we risk losing them forever.
About the Organization:
Žmonės Žmonėms is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and young people facing emotional challenges to trust the world and find their place in life. For the past six years, they have been supporting children growing up without parental care, empowering them to develop social skills, overcome addictions, and reduce or eliminate self-destructive and harmful behaviour. These children face difficult emotional and social conditions, and we are committed to being part of their transformation – but we cannot do it alone. Their mission: “We work every day to support children and young people living in challenging circumstances to overcome emotional difficulties and reconnect with the world around them.” Žmonės Žmonėms believes that every child deserves an equal opportunity to live a happy, fulfilling life.
