Raising Funds for the Multisport Championship for Young Athletes with Disabilities, in Liepaja, Latvia

The Children and Youth Para Sports Association, in cooperation with the Fenix Charity Fund, announces the launch of a new initiative: the first multisport championship for young athletes with disabilities, an inclusive para sports competition for children and young people with disabilities, that will take place already July 3-6, 2025 at the Liepāja Olympic Center. The event will gather young athletes, their families, specialists, volunteers and many more, for an unforgettable celebration of inclusion and sport. This championship marks an important milestone in the development of inclusive children parasport in Latvia.

Around 40 young athletes with physical disabilities will come together to compete in six sports – tennis, table tennis, boccia, curling, archery, and swimming – with additional masterclasses, educational sessions, and entertainment to support their growth and integration. This event will give beginners and experienced athletes the chance to compete in different sports, discover new passions, build confidence, and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

“Children and young people enjoy participating in events where they can use the knowledge and skills they have acquired, so we often organize parasport competitions. We are planning to organize various competitions in Latvia, and the largest of them is the Latvian Youth Para Sports Games 2025. We believe that sport is a powerful tool for inclusion, development, and inspiration. The upcoming event is one of our dreams coming true, and we hope it will also become an annual tradition,” says Natalia Novikova, president of the Children and Youth Para Sports Association.

Support needed

At this moment, the Children and Youth Para Sports Association are raising funds, €30,000, to cover venue costs, accommodation, meals, and other essential needs. We are inviting individuals, businesses, and organizations in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and beyond to stand with us, and give children an opportunity to focus on what matters most – joy, growth, and achievements.
